Europe Trip Day 4

We are heading to Venice! on a boat ride from Tronchetto.

Beautiful Venice! weather was perfect that morning! sunny and cool. warm enough to walk around without a jacket. group photo at St Mark's Square.

The bridge of sighs. wasn't really a big deal. crowded with tourists snapping shots of the narrow passage. see advertisers grabbing the opportunity to plaster their ads here...
significance of this bridge: it offered condemned prisoners a last glimpse of the world.

I spied a beautiful black venician dog. hehehe... and I conclude European dogs look better than Singapore dogs. for one, they are well behaved and allowed almost everywhere. trains, shopping malls, restaurants, buses.

was getting a bit restless after viewing the St Mark's Basilica, so we explored the maze of canals in Venice.

and we found the tastiest pizza thus far! 3 euros for a slice.

just cheese and tomato. but REALLY GOOD!

Venice was full of... Human beings and...

...Pests - Pigeons!

Here's andrew walking on an elevated platform in Venice. in winter, venice will be flooded several times a week because of the rising sea tide. when that happens, people have to climb atop these platforms to escape getting wet.

we then went back to the main land of Venice to have a chinese dinner (again). tasted the sweetest strawberries! huge and juicy!

The night was still young by the time we got back to our hotel. it was actually already 8pm but the sky was still bright. in spring, the sun rises at 5am and sets only at 9pm.

We were all happy to see a supermarket opposite our hotel, but alas, it closed at 7.30pm! so we gathered at a tour mate's room and had "supper". by the way, europe's blood oranges were awesome too :)

after much laughs, our night ended close to 11pm, and we will visit Milan, our last stop in Italy the next day.
