So we bid Rome farewell and headed to Pisa. saw the famous leaning tower of Pisa. a typical tourist shot here.
Cathedral baptistery in Pisa... chilly and strong winds.
and we headed to Florence, birthplace of Renaissance art. Beautiful city in Italy!
if my memory does not fail me, this was the St Mary cathedral of flowers.
and we saw the Door of Paradise done by Lorenzo Ghiberti. He carved bible stories on a door, supposedly the entrance to heaven. Here's a carving of David defeating Goliath.
and we walked on to the banks of Arno river. breath-taking! photos do not bring justice to the beauty of the river that linked Florence to Pisa.
I spotted a Florentine dog. hehehe
went up to the peak - Piazza Michelangelo to get a spectacular view of Florence. awesome! honestly, it was getting real cold with the chilly winds, but who would miss the picturesque sight you got up there???!
alright, this was the highlight of our evening. some good authentic italian fare! for starters, we had some cold meat cuts, goose liver, chopped olives and tomato & cheese spread on baguette slices.
REALLY good grilled steak and fish. needed no sauce for company as it tasted so good on its own!
and since you are in italy, you must eat Neapolitan! a three-flavoured ice cream dessert originally made in italy.
tour mates ending our dinner with red wine and coffee shots!

next update will be on Venice! one of my favourite places :)
