the five people you meet in heaven

spent my first week of school exploring my vast library and borrowing books. come to think of it, it's another 4 months before i leave NUS officially. gotta cherish every resource i have now.

well i found 'the five people you meet in heaven' by mitch albom! surprisingly it was sitting there untouched. i supposed it would be a really popular grab cos the author also wrote 'tuesdays with morrie'. i had a hard time getting hold of that book.

mitch albom seems to engage the theme of dying and love. dying and thinking if your life had been insignificant/significant. wad i got of this book was love knows no boundaries. eddie, the main character in the book who died in a freak accident loved his wife til the very end. marguerite, in her pre-mature death, felt his love in heaven.

guess he summed up his whole message in the ending with '....to share his part of the secret of heaven: That each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one.'

not a bad read. but beware cos it's quite heart aching. i have a soft spot for all these passing-on books. could not control my tears when i read tuesdays with morrie too.

next embarkment will be 'this is paradise...my north korean childhood'. i've always wondered how life is in one of the poorest, communist countries of the world. i watched a documentary on discovery channel and was quite appalled by the blind loyalty the citizens had to general Kim. it was as if he was god. but perhaps if i were nurtured in such environment i would too.

ooh... lee hsien long's son is in my class. shall not reveal his antics here, lest i become wanted. haha...

that's about all there is to my life at this point. and i just wanna end off by saying God is so good good good!
