almost one week has passed since south korean student Cho Seung-Hui killed 32 students at Virginia Tech university before turning the gun on himself. the news shook me..and i've been following updates faithfully online for the last 5 days. u know, it not only made me realise how vulnerable life is.. but also appreciate the importance of mental health. this Cho was clearly mentally unsound since young. yet the oh-so-conservative-asian values say that seeking help for mental illnesses is such a taboo. if there wasn't such hostility toward people who have mental issues and need clinical help, i believe this could have been prevented. if only someone had the courage to send this boy for mental treatment since young, the problem could have been nipped in the bud.
anyway i spent the last week preparing for my exams which start tmr, and ends next monday. i practically have a paper everyday, except sat and sun. manage to get a break in the midst of exam fever. on tuesday, i went to queue up for the free ben and jerry's cone at cathay cineplex with shuling. had the oatmeal cookie flavor and it was out of this world! a tad bit sweet though, but overall lovely! i must admit, it's my virgin taste of ben and jerry's.. caught a movie too... 'The reaping'.. had dinner delivered to me in the theatre. there's this special service that picturehouse offers. ate fish baked rice and it was goooood too! but the movie left me with lots of question marks.
just when i thought i was overlooked and left out, You came and saved the day. You never fail to. love U!
